This site outlines the freelance proofreading, copy editing, and copywriting services I offer. Any agreement for work will be confirmed in writing (usually over email) and will include the scope of work, timelines, and pricing.
2. Quotes & Payment
Quotes are based on the information you provide. If the scope changes significantly, the quote may need to be adjusted. Payment is usually due within 7 days of invoice, unless we agree otherwise in writing. Late payments may incur a small fee.
3. Deadlines & Delivery
I take deadlines seriously and will always try to meet the agreed turnaround time. If unexpected delays arise on either side, communication is key — and we’ll work together to adjust timelines if needed.
4. Revisions
One round of reasonable revisions is usually included in the price. Additional revisions may be quoted for separately.
5. Confidentiality
All documents and communication shared with me will be treated as confidential and will never be shared with third parties without your permission.
6. Copyright & Usage
You retain full ownership of your content. However, please don’t pass off my words (in the case of copywriting) or edits as your own without permission, especially in the context of portfolio use or public recognition.
7. Portfolio Use
I love showcasing the work I’ve been a part of — but I always ask first. If I’d like to use a testimonial, a snippet of your text, or an image of your book cover or project for my website or social media, I’ll request your written permission. Nothing will be shared publicly without your go-ahead.
8. Cancellations
You’re free to cancel a project at any time, but if work has already started, a partial fee may still apply. Likewise, I reserve the right to decline or withdraw from a project if necessary — ideally with fair notice and explanation.
9. Website Content
The content on this site is for general info about my services. While I aim to keep everything accurate and up to date, I make no formal guarantees about completeness or suitability for your particular needs.
10. A Note on Being Human
I aim for accuracy and consistency in every project, but I’m only human and the occasional typo or slip might sneak through. To help catch these, I read every document at least twice before sending it back to you. After you’ve made your updates based on my suggestions, I offer one return review to make sure everything is polished and ready to go.
And yes, I do sometimes use AI (otherwise I’d be left out in the cold in this fast-changing environment!) — but only as a little helper for idea generation and brainstorming. The writing, editing, and fine-tuning? That’s all me, personally, word by word.
