There are always going to be questions, so I’ve tried to put together a few of the most common ones with some answers.
However, should your question not be answered in the list below, please feel free to drop me a line here.
- What work do you proofread / copy edit?
- What if I have very specific requirements?
- How much do you charge?
- How can I pay you?
- What privacy protection do you offer?
1) What work do you proofread / copy edit?
I specialise in creative writing and websites, however I will proofread any writing that you may have – be it a few lines of an email that you want to send to your boss, or a dissertation paper that you want to wow your professor with, and everything in between.
2) What if I have specific requirements?
Once you have made the decision to outsource a proofreader and we have been in touch, I will require a sample piece of work, usually between 200 and 500 words (this will be determined by the size of your overall document) in order to ascertain the level of proofreading and / or copy editing that is required. This sample work will be complimentary and will not be added to the cost of the overall job.
3) How much do you charge?
Fees are a little tricky to answer in one question as it is entirely dependent on the amount of work needed, the details of the work needed, and how quickly you need the work returned to you.
However, I guarantee you that my prices are competitive, affordable and I offer discounts in certain circumstances.
To give you a rough idea of costs, here are some prices ranges that I have charged recent clients:
– Approx. 220 pages academic paper = R6,000 to R12,000 (excluding reference pages)
– Website revamp = R400 to R1,500
– Books/novels (up to 50,000 words) = R7,500 to R10,000
4) How can I pay you?
Payment will be done through PayPal for international clients, and into my South African bank account for anyone located in South Africa – all details will again be discussed in detail within our initial communication.
5) What privacy protection do you offer?
I understand how scary it is to think of releasing your hard work – often times personal – into the big wide world of the web, and to someone you likely do not know.
I guarantee that all work that you send me is treated with the strictest of confidence and will remain in my property only. I will not publish any of your content anywhere without receiving explicit consent to do so.
I will, however, use your company logo, or book cover (no content will be shared) to update my portfolio.
Please do feel free to drop me a line should you have any other questions that are not answered above.
